Illinois overrides the Governors Amendatory Veto at the last minute. Original Concealed Carry bill is now law.

The Illinois senate over ride the Governors veto 41-17 earlier in the day and with hours left on the clock the House over rode the veto by 77-31.   The state was under a court order to pass a concealed carry bill, the complete prohibition on the carry of firearms was rightfully ruled unconstitutional by the Illinois Supreme Court.

While the original version of the Concealed carry bill is now the law of the land in Illinois, it will be months before the first license is issued.

With over 70 shootings in Chicago over the long holiday weekend and a dozen murders, concealed carry can't come soon enough for the law abiding citizens of Illinois.
