|Adam Kokesh in Washington, DC|
Many opinions were expressed over this topic and over Adam himself. Regardless of where you fall on your thoughts on him, he is an American and is a combat Veteran. He has as much of a Right to free speech as anyone else.
On July 4th 2013 Mr Kokesh put his proverbial money where his mouth is. In bold defiance, he stood in Freedom Plaza with a pump action shotgun and loaded it while he made a statement: "We will not be silenced, we will not obey..." he ended it "See you next Independence Day."
The caption in the video challenges viewers to count the felonies being displayed and it appears Mr Kokesh is well aware that filming and publishing these 'felonies' could very likely end with him being imprisoned for a very long time.
One can only hope Mr Kokesh has established a crack team of lawyers prior to this protest. Perhaps it will end with some of DC's draconian guns laws being struck down in court?
In any case, right or wrong. Love or hate the man, Adam Kokesh acted as though he was a truly a free man.
On a side note, it was encouraging to see Adam dressed nicely and his facial hair nicely groomed. While I never judge a person based on appearances, it's one less thing to detract from the fact that ownership and possession of arms are a Right.
A Right that is enumerated in the Second Amendment of the Constitution.
"You have Rights antecedent to all earthly governments: Rights, that cannot be repealed or restrained by human laws; Rights, derived from the Great Legislator of the universe." -John Adams
